Energy Services South Appoints New Senior Vice President and General Manager
Energy Services South (ESS) is proud to announce the addition of Brian Young as the newly appointed Senior Vice President and General Manager.
With 20 years of expertise in the underground infrastructure industry, including extensive pipeline construction and integrity experience, Mr. Young is well-positioned to support ESS’s mission and values of safety, integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
“We are pleased to have Brian leading our growth at ESS, the nationwide non-union division of our expanding underground infrastructure business,” said Pete Howe, President of the Pipeline Segment for PLH Group, Inc., the parent company of ESS. “He brings an impressive record of successful project implementation along with extensive knowledge of pipeline maintenance and integrity services – an important area of strategic focus for our company.”
In addition to ESS’ legacy construction services, Young will be responsible for increasing ESS’ share of the U.S. Integrity Construction Market, focusing on integrity and compliance driven projects. These service offerings will include integrity management programs (IMPs) and project portfolios such as: program development, risk analysis, corrosion evaluation, and construction services with integrated engineering.
Young most recently served as a Director for Sunland Construction Inc., where he led Integrity Services and grew the integrity construction business by identifying opportunities, driving consistent and accurate bidding practices, and leading project management and field execution teams to insure execution excellence. Prior to rejoining Sunland Construction, Young held executive positions with WB Pipeline and Willbros Construction, where he was responsible for the P&L of the Mainline, Facilities, and Integrity business.
Young earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Auburn University. He is involved in numerous industry organizations such as The Pipeliners Association of Houston and the INGAA Foundation and has completed Project Management Institute Certification through ABC Mechanical at Purdue University.
