ESS Awarded Pipeline ‘Company of the Year’ for Safety

2020 started off with on a high note for the pipeline construction company Energy Services South (ESS) as they received ‘Pipeline Company of the Year’ for safety from PLH Group at an awards ceremony and keynote event. During the three-day Management Meeting, safety award winners like ESS were honored, as were many of PLH Group’s entities who received safety recognition across many categories and areas of expertise.
ESS follows the PLH Group protocols established through their centerpiece safety program: the PREVENT® System—a collection of tools designed to integrate safe work practices into every step of the task. This proprietary program puts visual and practical teaching tools into the hands of every employee companywide. As Bill Hopstein, Director of Safety, states; “Safety comes first. All ESS personnel, regardless of position, have the authority to suspend any operation which, in their opinion, constitutes a hazard to the life and health of any person….or which may present a hazard to the environment.”
Energy Services South is known for their new construction of pipelines and station facilities, and pipeline relocation and integrity services. Now, their distinct excellence in safety will be added to their growing list of achievements.
